A fast-growing semi-deciduous shrub or small tree with arching brown stems and lance-shaped light green leaves. Summer to late autumn brings funnel-shaped yellow flowers, followed by black fruits with a single seed. All parts are poisonous. Once rooted it tolerates long periods of drought, however it benefits from some watering in the hottest periods of the summer.
