Fast-growing evergreen shrub up to 3m tall. Stems and leaf undersides are silvery-bronze and slightly hairy, while the upper leaf surface is grey-green and leathery. In autumn, it bears fragrant white flowers from the leaf axils, followed by red-brown fruits. Hardy and adaptable, it is ideal for dense hedges.
