Elegant and robust bush, with rapid growth and expansive habit. From late spring to early summer, small fragrant white flowers appear, followed in autumn by blackish berries that persist through winter and attract birds. Suitable to any type of soil, it grows well in full sun or at most in limited shade. It bears short periods of drought, but takes advantage of constant, periodic wetting in summer: it also tolerates the salty winds of coastal areas.
