Evergreen, with a single woody trunk topped by a dense spherical crown of long, flexible leaves, reaching about 2 m wide. Slow-growing, it prefers bright exposure and well-drained, dry soils. Mature specimens produce long, showy inflorescences. Suitable for pots and striking as a specimen in dry gardens.
