Evergreen plant from the drylands of Central America, with a single sturdy trunk up to 2 m tall topped by a dense tuft of long, arching leaves. Slow-growing, it prefers bright exposure and well-drained, dry soils. Mature specimens produce long, striking inflorescences. Suitable for pots and ideal as a specimen plant in dry gardens.
