Similar to a palm tree, it usually has a single and lightly branched stem, up to 7-10 metres tall.
It’s a slow growing plant which needs fertile soil, good drainage and a sunny or semi shaded position. It benefits from periodical summer waterings even if it tolerates drought well enough. It’s ideal to realize scenic and exotic effects in coastal gardens, but it can also be grown in pot.
